Mr Pavlos A. Pavlakis is a Consultant Urological Surgeon specialising in advanced robotic and minimally invasive urological surgery, with particular expertise in prostate cancer, bladder cancer, complex pelvic uro-oncology and robotic urinary tract reconstruction.

He is Consultant Urological Surgeon and Lead Consultant for the Robotic Cystectomy Programme at Southend University Hospital, Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust, where he established and developed the robotic radical cystectomy service.

Mr Pavlakis has extensive international experience in robotic surgery. Since beginning specialist robotic fellowship training he has been involved in more than 1,500 robotic procedures, including over 700 robotic radical prostatectomies and more than 100 robotic radical cystectomies.

His specialist practice includes robotic radical prostatectomy, including Retzius-sparing techniques, robotic radical cystectomy, pelvic lymph-node dissection, urinary diversion, ureterolysis, ureteric reconstruction and reimplantation, and complex bladder and pelvic reconstructive surgery.

He also works within a multidisciplinary team managing complex deep infiltrating endometriosis involving the urinary tract, and has participated in more than 50 complex robotic endometriosis procedures, with particular expertise in bladder and ureteric involvement, ureterolysis, ureteric reimplantation and urinary tract reconstruction where required.

He also treats benign prostatic enlargement and has significant experience with Aquablation, including the HYDROS robotic system.
